The Ninth Miracle : Increasing the Food
The miracle of increasing the food and drink happened several times, in different circumstances and various occasions. We mentioned some of them and here is another one: Abu Huraira, may God be pleased with him, said, ‘In one of the invasions, the invasion of Tabuk, we were with the Messenger of Allah, God’s blessing and peace be upon him, and the Muslim’s provisions ran out.
They (the Muslims) took the permission of the Messenger of Allah to slaughter their camels and he allowed them to do so. When Omar Ibn al Khattab knew that, he came to the Messenger of Allah and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! Do you let them slaughter the camels that carry them and help them in their invasions? Call God, the Great and Almighty, to bless the little food you have and to increase it’.
The Messenger of Allah did as he was asked and God answered his supplication and all the vessels they had were filled with food.
The Messenger of Allah, God’s blessing and peace be upon him, said, ‘I bear witness that there is no God But Allah and I bear witness that I am the slave of God and His Messenger and the one who meets God, the Great and Almighty, and he has no doubt about it, he is sure to enter the Garden (of Bliss)’.’ So, this is a visible and clear miracle.
