Miracles of Prophet Muhammad
The First Miracle : The Holy Qur’an
Because God’s words were inspired to the prophet and because these words assured his prophecy and the truth of his message and because the Holy Qur’an is so distinguished by its letters, words, structure and the unseen news which were mentioned in it, it (the Holy Qur’an) appeared to be a new and special book which challenged all the human beings and even the Jinns themselves who were all unable to produce a great book as the Holy Qur’an.
God, the Most High, said,
"If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to
produce the like of this Qur’an, they could not produce the like
thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support"
(The Night Journey or Al-Isra: V., 88)
Even the Arabs who are known to be so eloquent and well-spoken people
were unable to produce even ten verses like those in the Holy Qur’an.
Allah. Glory be to Him and Most High is He, said,
"Say, Bring ye then ten suras forged, like unto it"
(Hûd: V., 13)
Also, He challenged them in the following sura,
"And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time
to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and all your witnesses
or helpers (if there are any) besides God, if your (doubts) are true.
But if ye cannot and of a surety ye cannot"
(Baqara or The Cow: V., 23)
This sura is nothing but an assurance of the people’s inability to present
(produce) one sura like those in the Holy Qur’an, even in the future they
will not be able to do so. About one thousand and four hundred years have
passed since the appearance of the Holy Qur’an and the unbelievers are still
unable to produce even one sura like that of the Holy Qur’an.
Because of this, the Qur’an was an eternal miracle and Islam will also
be eternal and will remain till the end of this life because its miracle
is also eternal.
